The Composition of Handrails

① Outer layer is divided into two formulas to adapt to different environmental requirements - indoor type and outdoor type. The outdoor type handrail has better ozone and ultraviolet resistance than the indoor type. The indoor type is suitable for escalators inside buildings, and the outdoor type is suitable for escalators in open-air places.

② Fabric linings are wrapped around the upper and lower sides of the steel cord, increasing the strength of the handrail.

③ Steel cord reinforcement can ensure that the handrail can withstand strong tension without being elongated or broken during operation.

④ Fabric linings are wrapped around the upper and lower sides of the steel cord, increasing the strength of the handrail.

⑤ Gliding layer is used for the friction drive between the driving wheel and the sliding layer cloth, which mainly has two types: Cotton cloth and Polyamide cloth.

Product Package

1) The escalator handrail is covered with transparent PE film for protection after production.

2) The escalator handrail is wrapped with black PE film for packaging.

3) The escalator handrail in carton packaging is for customized length.

4) The escalator handrail in wooden drum packaging need to be connected by a vulcanising machine.

How to Measure Your Escalator Handrails

1) Place your start mark on the incline of the handrail. On an up unit, the starting mark will be at the top (A) and the measurements will be at the bottom measuring up the incline.

2) Place your next mark at the other end of the incline (B) and measure the distance between the two marks.

3) Once you have recorded your first measurement, rotate the escalator so as to take another measurement down (or up) the incline.

4) Repeat Step 3 (usually 3 times) until the start mark reappears.

5) Measure the distance between your last mark and the start mark (D & A) and add to your other measurements (1, 2, & 3) to obtain the total handrail length.

Note: Measurements are in meters, with two decimal places retained for precision to the centimeter. For example: 100.18 meters, 100.06 meters. Insufficient measurement accuracy may result in installation failure.
